The Lavanda LD851L packs a twin-burner gas hob and a stainless-steel sink into a single slim 900 mm worktop insert, with the sink bowl on the left-hand side (the "L" in the name). Built from 304-grade stainless steel with two tinted toughened-glass lids, it's a budget-friendly alternative to the pricier Dometic / SMEV 9222 — and unusually for its price it includes a 12V electronic ignition. A genuine value pick for campervan and motorhome kitchens where space is tight.

Frequently asked questions

How does it compare to a Dometic / SMEV 9222?

It's designed as a direct budget alternative — near-identical 900 mm footprint and similar cut-out, so it drops into the same space. You trade some brand pedigree and build refinement for a much lower price, and the Lavanda even includes a 12V electronic ignition. For a cost-conscious self-build it's a strong value pick.

How are the burners lit?

It has a built-in 12V electronic ignition — wire it to your van's 12V supply and press to spark. That's a step up from the manual piezo ignition on many budget hobs.

What gas does it run on?

LPG — butane or propane — at a standard 30 mbar supply pressure, through an 8 mm gas inlet. It uses around 204 g/h at full output.

Does it have a flame-failure device?

Lavanda fit flame-supervision across their gas range, but a per-burner flame-failure device isn't separately listed on every spec sheet for this model. If an FFD is essential for your build or insurer, contact us and we'll confirm before you order.

What size cut-out do I need?

Around 883 × 307 mm with rounded corners, leaving roughly a 32 mm overhang at the front. Different sources quote slightly different nominal sizes, so always cut to the template supplied with your unit.

Is a tap included?

Not as standard — there's a pre-cut ~30 mm hole ready for a tap, but you choose and buy the tap separately. A "with mixer tap" version also exists, so check what your order includes or just ask us.

Which side is the sink, and is there a right-hand version?

This is the LD851L, so the sink is on the left and the hob on the right. A mirror-image LD851R (sink on the right) is also made — just ask if you need it.
