Which kit do I need?
There are two generations of Crafter, and each has a roof-rail and a bare-roof option.
Crafter II, 2017 onwards
(the current shape, shared with the MAN TGE)
- UK van, any roof: the bare-roof right-hand-drive kit, part
98655Z058. Fiamma only make a left-hand-drive roof-rail kit for the 2017-on Crafter, which we don't stock, so for a UK van we fit the bare-roof RHD kit (you drill the roof rather than use the factory rails).
Crafter I, 2006 to 2016
(the earlier shape)
- With factory roof rails: Kit Mercedes Sprinter Roof Rail, part
98655-772. Fiamma uses the same kit here as on the Sprinter, because the two vans share a platform. - Bare roof, no rails: Kit Mercedes Sprinter / VW Crafter High Roof. For a UK van, the right-hand-drive version, part
98655-889.
Most UK Crafter conversions are panel vans with a bare roof, so the bare-roof kit is the one most self-builders need.

All of these kits fit both the Fiamma F80S and the F65S awning, and are the UK right-hand-drive spec. Fitment verified against the Fiamma 2026 catalogue.
Crafter II (2017+) with factory roof rails: Fiamma only make a left-hand-drive roof-rail kit for this van, which we don't stock. For a UK Crafter II we fit the bare-roof RHD kit (98655Z058).
A note on awning length
For a bare-roof Crafter the F80S length runs from about 320cm (medium wheelbase) up to 450cm (long wheelbase). Use the Fit Finder above for the exact length for your van — the bracket page links through to the F80S awning.
Fitting it
- Confirm generation and roof type first. The kit depends entirely on these two answers. Ordering the wrong one is the most common bracket mistake; our Fit Finder is there to remove the guesswork.
- Roof rails must be the factory item. The roof-rail kits clamp to genuine VW rails. Aftermarket bars are not the same fixing.
- Bare-roof kits drill the roof. Every penetration is bedded and sealed with polyurethane sealant. A roof leak is the one mistake that ruins the interior below.
- Two-person job. Lifting the awning onto the fitted brackets is not a solo task.
None of this is beyond a methodical self-builder, and if you would rather not drill the roof, a local installer will fit a supplied awning and kit in a few hours.
